A little help

For help with Distil, contact mydistil.com@gmail.com. Tell us your Android version, phone model, app version and what happened. Do not send recordings or private notes unless they are needed and you want to share them.

Getting started

AI transcription and note writing need an initial model download. Open Settings → AI models to start setup and check the required space. After setup, the AI runs on your phone and works without an internet connection. You can type notes without downloading models.

Something in a note is wrong

AI can misunderstand speech or reorganise a thought incorrectly. You can edit the note. Use “Report this note” from the note's menu to prepare an email report. Your note's title and text are excluded by default; include them only if you choose. Review the draft in your email app before sending it.

Moving phones or reinstalling

Distil does not sync or restore from a cloud account. Android backup and device transfer are disabled for its data. Do not uninstall or clear storage as a troubleshooting step if you need to keep your journal.

Privacy and deletion

Read the privacy policy to understand local storage and optional messages. The “Delete your data” page explains how to remove one entry, the entire local journal or support correspondence.
